Been sourcing some statistics and data from various news pages..

Pedestrian crashes from 2006 to 2011:
459 crashes in Wellington involving pedestrians, 5 per cent of all crashes in the city.
5262 crashes in New Zealand involving pedestrians, 2.7 per cent of all crashes.
18.7 per cent of crashes in Wellington causing injury involved pedestrians.
8.3 per cent of crashes in New Zealand causing injury involved pedestrians.
93.9 per cent of pedestrian crashes in Wellington resulted in injury.
90.7 per cent of pedestrian crashes in New Zealand resulted in injury.
8.4 per cent of pedestrian injury crashes in Wellington involved a bus.
3.6 per cent of pedestrian injury crashes in New Zealand involved a bus.
Pedestrian crashes in the Wellington CBD:
2000 – 37 total; 9 serious, 28 minor (6 bus)
2001 – 40 total; 1 fatal, 7 serious, 32 minor (5 bus)
2002 – 48 total; 15 serious, 33 minor (7 bus)
2003 – 28 total; 5 serious, 23 minor (1 bus)
2004 – 39 total; 1 fatal, 9 serious, 29 minor (6 bus, including the fatality)
2005 – 47 total; 15 serious, 32 minor (11 bus)
2006 – 45 total; 3 fatal, 11 serious, 31 minor (6 bus, including one fatality)
2007 – 44 total; 15 serious, 29 minor (8 bus)
2008 – 47 total; 1 fatal, 11 serious, 35 minor (7 bus)
2009 – 29 total; 6 serious, 23 minor (2 bus)
2010 – 39 total; 11 serious, 28 minor (8 bus)
