further development

So with this new colour scheme, i continued to develop the image. I seem to be just doing continual slight adjustments to the forms, in terms of the number of lines, how much they curve, how much space they take up etc, until i am happy with how it looks.

In this first image, there is too much structure and not enough chaos. I am looking at reaching the look of the expressionist paintings i researched, and i want to mimic the look of paintings which appear as though paints has almost been splattered about the page in a very free manner. 

 

These next two are more in tune with what I am looking for..

However  felt they were lacking a bit of overall contrast, so the next step i took was to add in some darker lines.
