off centre + dof

I also did some trials with moving the background off centre, for example..

But i preferred the symmetrical version, as it felt like it had a nice ordered structure to it, despite being made up of so many little pieces.

I also had a play with blurring out the background, to mimic a sense of having depth of field.

I liked this effect, but i felt as though it is something i should perhaps explore later on, when i have a final composition decided on.
